Darcy is the driving force behind one of the first leading 100% Indigenous RPAS (Drone) Training/Services/Sales organization in Canada. As a proud member of the Bigstone Cree Nation, Darcy is on a mission to revolutionize the industry through Indigenous perspective. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit, he has established a successful marketing business in 2016, where he ventured into selling a range of products, including drones. Since then, Darcy has tenaciously built two organizations from the ground up — HK Drone Service, a thriving sales and services company, and Aboriginal Training Service – RPAS ACADEMY, a Indigenous-led ground school.
His unwavering dedication over the past few years has been focused on advocating, encouraging, and uniting Indigenous communities to take the lead in the Drone and Renewables industries. Darcy envisions a future where Indigenous youth become influential leaders and innovators in the RPAS field. With his company’s cutting-edge training programs, they have already trained hundreds of RPAS pilots. Notable beneficiaries include the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Edmonton City Police, National Defence of Canada, Indian Resource Council of Canada and numerous members of First Nations and Metis communities across Canada. These programs furnish participants with the essential skills for both Basic and Advanced operations, with a strong emphasis on practical hands-on application.
Presently, Darcy holds a pivotal role as a dedicated Board Member at Aerial Evolution Association Of Canada and Indigesteam, an esteemed Indigenous Youth Robotics Association. Within this capacity, he generously imparts his wealth of expertise in drones to ambitious young individuals, many of whom harbor aspirations of entering the industry. Moreover, Darcy extends his outreach by orchestrating captivating drone demonstrations at local schools and Indigenous communities keen on exploring this innovative technology.
Darcy Hunt’s unwavering commitment to Indigenous empowerment, industry innovation, and education serves as a beacon of inspiration. It heralds a future where Indigenous communities ascend as trailblazers in the dynamic RPAS field, rewriting the narrative of possibility for generations to come.
