Charles Vidal

Biography

Charles plays a significant leadership role in the Advanced Aerial Mobility (AAM) sector by spearheading multiple research initiatives at the National Research Council Canada (NRC), where he is currently the Program Leader, for the Integrated Aerial Mobility (IAM) Program. Charles also has significant research and development experience in the industry, leading multi-disciplinary teams creating next generation Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems. Early in his career, Charles was highly regarded as RPAS site lead and pilot during overseas deployment supporting the Canadian Forces. As a volunteer, for the past 17 years, Charles has led the Aerial Evolution Association of Canada Student RPAS Competition committee, maturing it into a world class, highly-competitive, highly valued annual event. Few have the breadth of knowledge and experience gained from high intensity military RPAS operations to complex commercial RPAS service delivery, including collaborating with multiple governments and performing leading edge RPAS research and development.
