Dr. Tim J. Nohara

Biography

Dr. Nohara is an internationally recognized surveillance expert, with a bachelors, masters and Ph.D in electrical & computer engineering, a licensed professional engineer and a member of the IEEE. He is the author of numerous peer reviewed technical publications, reports and patents in surveillance. He founded Accipiter Radar over 30 years ago. Under his direction, Accipiter has successfully pioneered smart surveillance networks that allow safety & security practitioners along with other stakeholders to understand what is happening in their outdoor environments, be it in the air, on the water, or on land so they can keep us safe. During the past five years, Tim has led the development and maturing of smart surveillance networks which enable drones to be safely integrated into the national airspace by detecting when intruder drones and crewed aircraft get too close and alerting their remote pilots in command.
