Kathleen Henderson, Senior Director, Operations, Environment & Regulatory Affairs Canadian Airports Council With 30 years of experience in aviation, Kathleen Henderson is responsible for the daily advocacy and operational requirements of the Canadian Airports Council’s Operations, Standards & Technical Affairs and the Environment committees. Kathleen has worked at airports or airlines in 7 different Canadian communities located in 5 provinces before settling outside of Ottawa with Canadian Airports Council. She has considerable experience with airport operations, particularly during construction projects. Kathleen is passionate about her community and using her skill set to provide value in society. In 2021, Kathleen worked for the Government of Nunavut as a project manager, coordinating territorial COVID-19 response activities to support families and individuals isolating in their homes. This included developing a food hamper program and mental health and wellness supports. Kathleen is the Airport Ambassador Liaison and a Board member for Elevate Aviation a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring women to pursue careers in aviation. Currently, Kathleen leads, or is involved with, a number of aviation initiatives at the Canadian, North American and international level examining Sustainable Aviation Fuel, Alternative Fuels for aircraft, alternative fuels for airport heavy and light fleet, airport operations including drones, airport firefighting, and ground handling safety.
