Biography

Allister Schreiber graduated from the SAIT Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Technology program in 1994 and earned his AME (M1) license in 1996. He worked throughout Western Canada and the North, primarily on turbine helicopters, and has also held a Private Pilot’s License.
In 2006, Allister joined SAIT as an instructor in the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology Program, teaching helicopter and regulations classes. He was responsible for developing and teaching SAIT’s Transport Canada-approved R66 field maintenance type course.
In 2017, Allister began teaching SAIT’s UAV ground school and flight schools as part of SAIT’s Transport Canada-compliant RPAS training organization. In January 2019, he earned his Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate with flight reviewer rating. In 2020, he began working with SAIT’s CIRUS lab, participating in helicopter RPAS operations and other RPAS-related projects. Allister was the lead subject matter expert in the development of SAIT’s 15-week RPAS Certificate Program and has been instructing in the program since the fall of 2021. He now holds a Level 1 Complex RPAS Pilot Certificate and is currently developing a two-year RPAS program for SAIT, further advancing the institution’s leadership in RPAS education.
