Josh Ogden

Biographie

Josh Ogden is the Co-founder and CEO of AVSS, a Canadian aerospace company founded in 2017 by New Brunswickers with offices in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, and Ottawa, Ontario. AVSS designs and manufactures dual-use drone technology for commercial, public safety, and defence applications. Its products reach customers worldwide through direct partnerships and more than 70 distribution partners.

Under Josh’s leadership, AVSS has secured contracts supporting the Department of National Defence, including a recent award to supply low-cost drones to the Canadian Armed Forces. AVSS’s Canadian-made Drone D1 was also named among the first systems selected through Canada’s Defence Drone Initiative Marketplace.

Josh champions a stronger Canadian drone industry built on domestic engineering, manufacturing, and intellectual property. AVSS has published a Canadian Drone Market Map highlighting more than 175 companies, while Josh advocates for Canadian firms to play a larger role in defence procurement. He brings deep experience in aviation, systems engineering, and regulatory compliance to AVSS’s work for civil and defence customers.
