Tara de Munnik is the Manager of Economic Development for the City of Leduc, where she leads initiatives that strengthen the community’s prosperity through the attraction, retention, and expansion of businesses in key target sectors. With a passion for fostering economic growth, Tara is dedicated to creating an environment where businesses can thrive and residents can enjoy a vibrant, sustainable local economy.
Her professional strengths include leadership, relationship-building, and collaboration-skills she applies daily to connect people, ideas, and opportunities for shared success. Guided by an innate desire to serve, Tara is committed to advancing Leduc’s economic potential while ensuring that growth benefits the entire community.
Tara holds a Master of Business Administration (2015) and a Bachelor of Arts (1999). She began her career in banking, developing a strong foundation in finance and client relations before transitioning into the economic development field. In addition to her role with the City of Leduc, she currently serves on the Board of Directors for Business Retention and Expansion International (BREI), contributing to the advancement of best practices in business and community development.
Outside of work, Tara enjoys life with her husband, young daughter, and their mini Bernedoodle, embracing the balance between professional purpose and family life.
